It's been ten months since I updated, mainly because I've had nothing good to report until now. My band I was starting kind of dissolved because I joined Krsna in October, but things didn't go so well in that project. We did a three-song demo in january, and things just didn't connect. I played three or four shows with them but it wasn't working.
Anyway, I put a lot of hard work into both of those projects, and having both of them come to an end so abruptly really killed my drive for a while. I've used my time off to get back in shape, save money, and get an apartment in Tulsa. I finished my semester in school, but I'm not going back just yet. I don't want to finish school until I've accomplished everything I wanted to musically.
Still jamming with ex-Shutdown bandmates Nick and Rob in a psychedelic/prog-rock project, No Sleep Till Breakfast, but they don't want to bring in a vocalist so there's really no opportunities for that band outside of small local shows and self-released music. I love the music, but it's definitely not something you can make a career of. Which leads us to the point of this post;
After my fallout with Krsna I'm just not really up for putting a ton of dedication into someone elses project with no realy satisfaction on my end. I'm going to be 23 next month, and If I'm going to go somewhere I don't have a lot of time to get there.
After I get a strong set of demos completed I'm going to put together a band and start pushing really hard. The goal is to have a full-length recorded, pressed, lineup secured, and ready to tour by this summer. Let's see if I can pull it off.
